Florida Beer Wholesalers Association and Beer Industry of Florida Unite for a Stronger Industry Voice

FBWA and BIF merged in January 2025 to create a stronger, unified voice of advocacy for distributors statewide

The Florida Beer Wholesalers Association (FBWA) and the Beer Industry of Florida (BIF) are thrilled to announce their unification under the FBWA banner, marking a pivotal step in representing Florida’s beer industry with a more robust and cohesive voice. This merger consolidates resources and leadership to enhance advocacy efforts and bolster support for the state’s beer distributors.

Jared Ross, President of FBWA, underscored the significance of this milestone. “This is an exciting moment for Florida’s beer community. By combining our expertise and resources, we are better equipped to advocate for our members, create new opportunities for growth, and reinforce Florida’s commitment to choice, variety, and a vibrant free market.”

The integration of FBWA and BIF reflects a shared vision to fortify Florida’s beer industry. The unified organization will prioritize legislative advocacy, uphold the three-tier distribution system, and support distributors in meeting the evolving demands of beer consumers across the state.

David Bear, CEO of Lewis Bear Company in Pensacola and Chairman of FBWA, emphasized the merger’s impact. “This unification strengthens our ability to protect the three-tier system, ensuring a fair and competitive marketplace. It is our mission to maintain consumer access to the diversity and quality they value while preserving a system that benefits every part of the supply chain.”

Jacob Benton, Executive Vice President of Champion Brands in Jacksonville and a former BIF board member, expressed his enthusiasm about joining the FBWA Board. “This partnership amplifies our members’ voices and reinforces our commitment to an industry rooted in collaboration, creativity, and quality. Together, we are positioned to address challenges and seize opportunities more effectively than ever before.”

Along with the merger, Justin Hollis, the longtime president of BIF, has announced that he will be leaving the organization to accept a position at Weatherford Capital.
