Delivering choice and variety… and a lot more
The Florida Beer Wholesalers Association is a not-for-profit trade association of independent, family-owned distributors stretching from Pensacola to Key West. For nearly 40 years, our members have not only been providing the more than 3,500 different brands of fresh, quality beers sold in the state to licensed retailers, but have invested in their communities and supported local breweries and retailers every step of the way.
Three Tiers for Success
Florida, along with 31 other states, operates under what is known as the “three-tier” or “competitive/license” model. Under this regulatory model, manufacturers may not own distributors or retailers. Similarly, distributors may not own retailers. Thanks to this system, consumers are provided the choice and variety of more than 3,500 brands across the state. Watch our primer for more information.
Working Hard to Keep Our Communities Safe
Members of the FBWA joined forces with Florida’s “Highway Heroes,” a dedicated effort to raise awareness on human trafficking. Distributors across the state provided training to employees on the signs to look out for, resources available, and important tips on how to spot and report any potential human trafficking situations.
Florida’s beer distributors directly contribute more than $10 million to economic development, charitable organizations and local events each year.
